Your First Steps with Workforce Manager: Booking Your First Job

The Workforce Manager system is a comprehensive tool for streamlining your entire operation. But before you dive into its full power, let's look at the simple, foundational process of booking your very first job. This straightforward method is all you need to get started and provides a solid base for using the system's many other features.

The system is built on a clear structure: a central database stores all information, with customer files organised as Sites. Within each Site, projects are recorded as Job Tickets, while individual Bookings represent each scheduled visit.

Booking Your First Job: The Quickest Way to Get Started

When you're ready to create a new booking, just head to the main diary screen. The most efficient way to start is by clicking the 'Book a New Visit' button, which you'll find in the main interface or the left-hand menu. This opens a dialogue box where you can quickly enter the core details for your job.

From there, you simply:

  • Select the Job Type from the dropdown list.

  • Choose a Rep who will be attending the visit.

  • Set the Visit Date and Time.

  • Provide a description in the Job Details section.

To complete the booking, use the 'Find Address' feature. Just type in the postcode, and the system automatically fills in the site details. Once you save, the job is instantly dispatched to your representative’s mobile app. It’s that simple.

Beyond Your First Booking

Getting a job booked and sent to your team is just the beginning. While this process is incredibly simple, it's the gateway to the full capabilities of the Workforce Manager system. You’ll find that the system includes many other powerful features that can further streamline your operations, such as:

  • Creating custom Service Checklists that are automatically sent to the mobile app for specific job types.

  • Generating professional PDF Job Tickets that you can design with your own company branding.

  • Managing complex relationships with other businesses through the Managing Agents feature.

  • Viewing the complete history of every job and visit on a detailed Site Record page.

By mastering this first step, you're setting yourself up to take full advantage of everything Workforce Manager has to offer.
